Coming Up On Anime Watcher/Manga Reader

Hey, out there.  It's been a while.  After all, it's not easy being an adult and still watching anime and reading manga.  You know, life happens.  But that's not what you came for.  You came for a review.  While I won't be doing that this time around, I do have a number of things lined up.  I can't make promises about the exact order of things, but these are the things coming as I look to hit the ground running once again.

I have a number of manga reviews in the pipeline.  Blue Lock, Run On Your New Legs, Asadora, and others.  I even have some naughtier stuff in the pipeline, like Ero Ninja Scrolls.  So, yeah, I'll be playing the field with manga.

I have quite a bit of anime lined up as well.  A lot of it is obscure, but there will be a few big ones or relatively big ones, too.  I also have a few live-action adaptation reviews planned, like Ruroni Kenshin.

Of course, I can't forget my personal opinion pieces, like my Cool Characters and Anime Hotties/Cuties line of entries.  I'll also be introducing a new line of entries; Statue reviews.

So, yeah, it's going to be a busy time here at Anime Watcher/Manga Reader.  Hopefully you'll join me for all the fun.  I certainly intend to provide that fun.  Strap in and let's all enjoy anime and manga together.

WTF happened here?  That's all I can say about this anime.  Just...WTF?  Well, here's Blood Lad. The story follows a vampire named Staz.  He's not an ordinary vampire, though.  He's likes people and is enamored with Japanese people in particular.  Naturally, this means he's an otaku, with an extensive collection of anime, manga, and statuettes.  For him, the only thing that could be better is meeting an actual Japanese person. Log Horizon Anime Review

People getting trapped in videogame.  It seems to be a genre of its own.  I like to call it the .Hack genre because the .Hack series was my first exposure to this type of story, hence I always though .Hack was the originator of it.  I'm pretty sure I'm wrong about this, but .Hack spawned a number of clones, including Real Account, Sword Art Online, and the subject of this post, Log Horizon. Log Horizon follows a character called Shirou, whom some call the Villain In Glasses.  First things first.  Shirou is cool.  Unlike most main characters in these type of anime, Shirou is a strategist.  He's isn't a whiny crybaby or an overpowered douchebag.  No, Shirou is a thinker, planner, and master manipulator.  He does things in the background and behind the backs of others, showing just enough of his strategy to intrigue while not revealing too much. Anime Hotties: Ikumi Mito

Tan, blonde, scantily-clad, and obsessed with meat.  These things all describe Food Wars' Ikumi Mito...or Nikumi as she's called in the manga...or Meat-Meat as the anime calls her.  No matter what you call her, she's the same girl. Ikumi Mito is a master of procuring, prepping, and cooking meat.  She's also a potential love interest for series protagonist Soma Yukihira.  Of all of Soma's candidates, she's probably the sexiest (or at least she dresses the sexiest).  Rarely seen in a full uniform, she's pretty much shirtless 90% of the time.  It's not hard to see where her appeal lies.
