A super-exclusive school that occupies an entire island by itself. An bored protagonist that has more to him that you initially see. This is Classroom Of The Elite.
At first glance, Classroom Of The Elite looks like a typical high school drama. However, you quickly see that it is not (at least initially). The story follows Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, a seemingly average teenager who has trouble fitting in and making the cut. Obviously, there's more to him than meet the eye, as his classmates figure out fairly quickly. But how much more?

Kiyotaka is just your average "more than average" teenager. |
Speaking of his classmates, there's no shortage of assholes and waifus. You have a generic tough guy, the smoking hot underachiever, the teacher you wish you had in school, and the fake bitch who pretends to be cute, among other tropey characters. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, because at least they're doing good stuff.

...and various waifus, of course. |
The main story is supposed to involve his class (a group of bottom-feeders) climbing past the other classes to the top of the school. To go from being the dregs of the school to become a "classroom of the elite" so to speak. You can think of it as a slightly "gritter" version of Baka & Test, for those who've seen that cute little anime.
Unfortunately, this anime's plot drags it's ass and never really gets to that point. The series is only twelve episodes at this point. This sucks, because they set up some interesting things and never got around to exploring them. It felt like it was supposed to be longer, but the creator gave up for some unknown reason. Let's pray for a second season.
About the school now. This place is quite impressive. As mentioned before, it takes up an entire island by itself. The school is decked out with everything a teenager could want. Shopping malls, nightclubs, coffee shops, and more. They don't have to spend money to get anything. Instead they spend points. There is a catch to these points, but the students can literally buy anything with them.

The school is practically its own city. |

Don't you wish your high school had a shopping mall? |
Classroom Of The Elite is an interesting anime. The problem is that it never rises above interesting. Characters get underutilized, story angles don't get explored, and it felt incomplete as a whole. That said, being interesting is perhaps it's greatest strength because it makes you want more. As stated earlier, if there's a second season someday, sign me up. Check it out.
