Pocky

So you're sitting there, about to watch an anime or read a manga, but it seems like something is missing.  You almost feel like an otaku, but you feel like the experience isn't complete.  Well, if you don't have any Pocky on you, you're right.


A long, thin cookie/cracker-type thing cover in chocolate, Pocky is basically like crack for anime watchers.  Sweet and crunchy, you'll always reach for them.  Then, before you know it, they're all gone.  They go especially well with slice-of-life or comedy anime like K-on, Azumanga Daioh, and Lucky Star.

That gleam you see is a sign that these things were sent from Heaven.
I first found out about these things while watching an episode of Please Teacher or Please Twins (I forget which one).  Mizuho Kazami (the teacher) was eating them.  I thought, "those look good.  I wonder if we have those here in America."  One trip to the supermarket later, there they were in the Asian food section.

They did not disappoint.  I always make sure to grab a box at least once a week.  They come in two size; small and large.  If you just can't get enough, grab the big box.

Kawai Complex is a hilarious anime with a few cute girls.  Introducing Mayumi Nishikino, Kawai Complex's washed-up veteran of love. Mayumi Nishikino, a full-fledged working woman who can't find love. Mayumi is a total bitch.  She's frustrated by her inability to find love, jealous when others find it, and happy when others break up.  It's pathetic, really. It doesn't take much to make her angry. Anime Hotties: Yaeko Minegasaki

Do you like young professional women?  Do you like women with purple hair?  Do you like Food Wars, but can't find an adult female to drool over?  Well, guess what?  She exists.  Her name is Yaeko Minegasaki. Yaeko Minegasaki isn't that hard to miss.  She's the first REAL threat Soma Yukihira faces in his quest to become a top-class chef.  She an urban planner and, as such, she's the devil.
