Well, it's happened.  Kakegurui has a spinoff/prequel.  Even better, it stars an intriguing character.  This is Kakegurui Twin. Kakegurui Twin is, as mentioned before, a prequel to the main series.  That means we get to see the state of the school before Yumeko comes in and screws with the student council.  Yep, Yumeko isn't the main character.  Instead, it's the other main girl, Mary Saotome.  So we're already off to a good start. Sigh...Mary... So, what does Ms. Mary do.  Gamble.  What else?  Prequel or not, it's still Kakegurui.  Mary takes her lumps, gets her revenge, makes friends, and looks hot doing it. The main series has taught us that asshole can look innocent. Mary suffers the agony of "defeet". Who is she?  Read and find out. Kakegurui Twin looks interesting.  Mary is my favorite character, so it's nice to see her branch out.  I look forward to seeing what kind of assholes she'll encounter on her way to bec

Kakegurui is a fun manga series that follows Yumeko Jabami and company as the gamble their way to the top of the school food chain.  There are lots of laughs to be had, particularly in issue 7. For example, Yumeko's happy smile is something that always makes me laugh.  It's different from her other types of smiles.  It is present and accounted for here. Happy Yumeko always makes me laugh. Of course it can be funny when Yumeko isn't smiling.  There just something about Midari that brings out the worst in her. Good thing Yumeko isn't a violent person. Maybe it's just me, but Midari crying had me dying. Am I wrong for liking this. Midari's not alone in shedding tears, as this issue's main antagonist starts crying as well, much to the surprise of Yumeko and Midari.  It's okay, though.  The rotten bitch deserves it.
